What makes the Cloud different
On most sofas, the back upholstery is its own panel, and taking the back off is quick. On the Cloud, the back and arms are one continuous piece of upholstery, so more of it has to come off before we reach the frame.
That's why, on a Cloud, it's usually the base we free instead of the back. Because the back and arms don't separate at a seam, cutting the base free is what gets the frame through the door. We open the upholstery at the base, cut the frame, and rebuild the joint with wood, steel plates or both, screwed across the cut, so it holds as strong as before, or stronger. Then we reattach the upholstery the way it was. On the Luxe and extra-long versions, an arm sometimes comes off along with the base for a tighter fit. Which combination we use depends on the building, and that's what the talk-through decides.
A Cloud we fitted in Manhattan
An RH Cloud up four flights of stairs. We took it apart on the spot, carried the pieces up and rebuilt it inside.

Before you order
Look at the whole route, not one door: the building entrance, the elevator or stairs, the hallway turns and your apartment door. Our free Will My Sofa Fit? check gives you a Yes, Tight or No verdict. Send the RH product link to the AI Quote Tool to see your price range.
Light fabric? Have it taken apart indoors
With the Workshop Fit, the Cloud comes to our workshop before it comes to you: shipped there, or picked up by us. We photograph it on arrival, take it apart indoors on a clean carpet, one sofa at a time, then carry it in and rebuild it in your home. It is never opened on the sidewalk or a lobby floor.
