What makes the Harmony different
The 104-inch Harmony sofa measures 104 inches wide by 41 inches deep by 35 inches high, with a 21-inch seat and a 51-inch diagonal depth, the measurement that matters most when a sofa has to go around a tight turn. West Elm also sells a modular Harmony variant at 82 by 43 by 37 inches, with a 20-inch seat and removable legs. That's a different piece with different numbers. If you're comparing the two, confirm which Harmony you're actually looking at before you measure your door.

How we take the Harmony apart
Back removal is what usually gets a Harmony through a tight entrance. What we can't tell you in advance is whether that back is its own panel or continuous with the arms, the way it is on an RH Cloud. West Elm doesn't publish that, and it can vary by configuration. If the upholstery is one piece with the arms, it's usually the base that comes off instead. We find out in the talk-through, and that decides both the exact cut and the exact price.

If it doesn't fit
West Elm's own product page carries this warning on Made-to-Order and Special-Order Harmony configurations, checked September 27, 2026: "This is a custom piece and cannot be canceled, returned, or exchanged." On one configuration we checked, that meant the full $2,399 price plus the $279 delivery fee, $2,678 total, with no way back. Quick Ship Harmony can be returned, but West Elm's own pages disagree with each other on the window: one says 7 days, another says 30. Confirm your exact window at checkout. The delivery fee, from $179 to $429 depending on distance and order size, is never refunded either way.

Before you order
West Elm's Chelsea store is at 119 West 17th Street. Measure the whole route before you order, not just the front door: building entrance, elevator or stairs, hallway turns and your own apartment door. Our doorway and hallway guide covers the measurements that trip people up most, and we work across Manhattan every day. Check the route with Will My Sofa Fit?, and send the Harmony's product link to the AI Quote Tool to see your price range.
The fabric
The Harmony we priced was in a Performance Yarn Dyed Linen Weave. Linen shows marks, so we lift the upholstery with the tool pointed inward, away from the side you see.
Light fabric? Have it taken apart indoors
With the Workshop Fit, the Harmony comes to our workshop before it comes to you. We take it apart indoors on a clean carpet, one sofa at a time, then carry it in and rebuild it in your home. It's never opened on the sidewalk or a lobby floor. The Workshop Fit →
